Reality TV star and singer Hazel Oyeze Onou, popularly known as Whitemoney, confidently states that his latest song, “Oyoyo,” deserves a Grammy. The BBNaija Season 6 winner asserts that the track is currently the biggest song in Eastern Nigeria.
In a recent interview, Whitemoney expresses his belief, saying, “My latest single, Oyoyo, is at the moment the biggest song in the East. That track deserves a Grammy, and this is not me capping; rather, I am just stating the fact.”
Whitemoney, known for his charisma and talent, also shares his aspirations for a career in Nollywood. He believes he has the ability to become a top Nollywood superstar and discloses that he has several movies in the works, with plans for them to hit cinemas before the end of the year.
The assertion about “Oyoyo” deserving a Grammy aligns with the recent creation of the Best African Music Performance category by the Grammy organizers. Notably, the category includes nominations for the 2024 edition, with artists such as Davido, Musa Keys, Ayra Starr, Burna Boy, Asake, Olamide, and Tyla in contention. Whitemoney’s claim adds an interesting perspective to the ongoing discussions about African representation in global music awards.
